Masdar, wholly owned by the Mubadala Development Company (Mubadala), is Abu Dhabi’s multi-faceted initiative in the development and commercialization of renewable energy and sustainable technology. The London Array, which is an important project for Masdar, is one of many renewable energy initiatives being developed both in Abu Dhabi and internationally.
In parallel, the company is investing in a number of innovative cleantech companies to further develop and deploy their technologies; it has also formed several partnerships with companies, some of which have resulted in joint ventures on large scale projects. The biggest project currently underway is Masdar City, a carbon-neutral, zero-waste cleantech hub fully powered by renewable sources of energy.
